Saucy Mama Dill Mustard

This is one of those recipes we just couldn't wait to share with you. 

Behold...

The sandwich cake. 

How gorgeous is this delicious masterpiece!? And how fun?! Our foodie friend Merry Graham graciously shared this amazing recipe with us, which features a few different Saucy Mama items. We would love to try this recipe with all sorts of our yummy condiments! The opportunities are endless. 

This "cake" would be perfect for Easter brunch, a baby or bridal shower, or even just a darling birthday party. You'll definitely wow your guests with this one, so we hope you'll give it a try! 

Dill Mustard Sandwich Cake with Ham and Turkey

Ingredients:

For Dill Mustard Spread:

1/2 cup mayonnaise
2-3 tablespoons  Saucy Mama Dill Mustard

For Olive Tapenade:

Saucy Mama Garlic Stuffed Olives
2 green onions, rough chop
2 mini red sweet peppers
1 tablespoon  Saucy Mama Four Leaf Balsamic Dressing

For Sandwich:

1 (16 oz) round loaf King Hawaiian Sweet Bread or French Country Loaf
1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
6 ounces deli sliced ham
6 deli sliced sharp cheddar cheese
3 ounces (14 slices) sliced Sopressata or spicy salami
6 deli sliced pepper jack cheese or Monterey Jack cheese
6 ounces deli sliced turkey
2 tomatoes sliced
1/4 cup sliced pepperoncini
6 deli sliced muenster cheese

For Cream Cheese Top Spread:

16 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
8 ounces mascarpone cheese, room temperature
1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
1/4 teaspoon onion powder

For Top Decoration Ideas:

Fresh dill
Radishes
Yellow squash cut into flowers
Persian cucumber slices
Pickle slices
Multi-color carrots
Chopped chives or green onions

Directions:

For Spread: 

In a a small bowl whisk mayonnaise and desired amount of Saucy Mama Dill Mustard. Note: Saucy Mama Garlic Mustard is delicious as well!

For Tapenade: 

In a mini food processor process olives, onions, sweet peppers, and balsamic dressing until finely chopped.

For Sandwich: 

Slice loaf of bread horizontally into 3 or 4 bread rounds, depending on height of loaf.

Layer one: Spread bottom layer with dill mustard spread and arrange lettuce, ham, and cheddar cheese. Top with bread round.

Layer two: Spread 2nd round with olive tapenade, salami, pepper jack cheese.

Layer three: Spread the 3rd round with dill mustard spread and top with turkey, tomatoes, pepperoncini, and Muenster Cheese. Top with 4th round of bread.

Press firmly and tuck all cheese and ham bits that are hanging out over the edges back into the sandwich. Spread cream cheese mixture over entire bread round. Decorate outside as you wish. Refrigerate until ready to use. The sandwich cake can be made before if tomatoes are omitted. Serve with forks!

Serves: 10

Substitutions: If fresh dill is not your favorite, chopped chives are an excellent substitute.
